The Competition
What is the Garden City Cup?
The Garden City Cup is a competition designed to answer the question local soccer fans and players care most about: which high school has the best team in the CSRA?
Established in 2026 by six area schools, the Cup unites programs from GHSA, GIAA, and SCHSL to battle for a shared regional crown.
Different leagues. Different state titles. One undisputed CSRA champion.

Group Stage — complete by Feb 26, 2027
Each team plays the other two in its group at the venues listed below. The top two teams in each group advance to the semifinals.
Semifinals — Monday, March 1, 2027
Group A winner vs Group B runner-up, and Group B winner vs Group A runner-up. Hosted at Aquinas High School.
Consolation — Wednesday, March 3, 2027
Group A third-place team vs Group B third-place team. Hosted at Aquinas High School.
Third Place & Final — Monday, March 8, 2027
The two semifinal losers meet in the Third Place Match. The two semifinal winners meet for the Garden City Cup. Both at Aquinas High School.

Match rules
The Garden City Cup is built on top of existing state association games. As a result, every game, from qualifying through the final, follows applicable state association rules for match length, overtime and penalty kicks.
Qualifying points
A win earns 3 points, including a win on penalties. A loss earns 0 points. Tied matches follow the applicable state association’s overtime and penalty-kick procedures.
Tied standings
Teams level on points are ranked first by head-to-head result, then by goal difference capped at three per match, then by fewest goals conceded. Remaining ties are settled by a witnessed coin flip or random draw.
Competition decisions
Matters not covered by GCC rules are decided by majority vote of founding schools. State association rules take precedence.
